Acceleration

Acceleration cards are used to increase or decrease your speed according to the equation:

 V = Vo + at

You can play Acceleration cards when you don’t need service or when you need to slow down because a Deer Crossing or Sharp Turn Attack card has just been played on you.  Normally when you play an Acceleration card, the time for your turn equals one.  However, if you play an Acceleration card on the same turn as a Super card, then time equals two.

Out-of-Gas and Flat Tire Attack Cards

You may play these cards on anyone who does not already have an Attack card on them and has not played the relevant Super card.  If you play an Attack card, then your time equals one and your acceleration equals 0.  If one of these Attack cards has been played on you, then you have two options on your turn:

1. Play a relevant Super card.  Refer to the section on Super cards below for more details.

2. Discard a card.  If you do not have the appropriate Super card then you must discard a card.  Your final speed is reduced to zero and the time for your turn is one.   You will need to play one Service card on a future turn to be able to move again.  The Attack card remains in front of you until you have played the Service card.

Deer-Crossing and Sharp-Turn Attack Cards

You may play one of these cards on anyone who does not have an Attack card on them, has not played the relevant Super card, and who has a speed greater than 25.  If you play an Attack card then your time equals one and your acceleration equals 0. If one of these Attack cards is played on you, then you have three options on your turn:

1. Play a relevant Super card.  Refer to the section on  Super cards below for more details.

2.Play an Acceleration card.  If you have an Acceleration card that can slow you down to less than 25, then you can play it and you will not need service.  For example, if your speed is 50 and you play an Acceleration=30 card, then your new speed is 20.  However, you cannot go slower than zero.  Therefore if your speed is 30, then you cannot play an Acceleration=50 card. The time for your turn is one and your acceleration is the negative of the Acceleration card.

3.Discard a card.   If you do not have the appropriate Super or Acceleration card, then you must discard.  Your new speed is zero and the time for your turn is one You will need to play two Service cards on future turns.  The Attack card remains in front of you until you have played the two Service cards.

Service Cards

Service cards are used after you have been attacked and you need service.  When you play a Service card, your acceleration equals zero, the time for your turn equals one, and the number of Service cards that you need is reduced by one.  Service cards remain in front of you until you have played enough to remove the Attack card.  Once you have played enough Service cards to remove the Attack card, the Service cards and the Attack card are placed in the discard pile.  If you play a Service card when you do not need service, then the card is discarded, your acceleration equals zero, and the time for your turn equals one.  You cannot play a Service card on your turn immediately after you have been attacked.

Super Cards

The Super Deer Radar card counteracts the Deer-Crossing Attack card.  The Super Steering card counteracts the Sharp Turn Attack card.  The Super Gas Tank card counteracts the Out-of-Gas Attack card.  The Super Tire card counteracts the Flat Tire Attack card. If you play a relevant Super card on your first turn after you have been attacked, then the Attack card is removed and no Service is needed.  You then pick and play another card.  The time for your turn is doubled.  If the second card you play is an Acceleration card, then your time is two.  If your second card is a Double-Time card, then your time is doubled again to four.  If you play any other card then your acceleration is zero and your time is two. If you play a Super card at any other time, the time for your turn equals one and your acceleration equals zero. Once you play a Super card, it remains in front of you throughout the entire game.  No one can play the corresponding Attack card on you.

Double Time Cards

Double Time cards are used to double the time of your turn.  They can only be played when you do not need service.  Normally when you play a Double Time card, the time for your turn is doubled to two and your acceleration is zero.  However, if you play a Double Time card on the same turn that you play a Super card then your time is four.
